ILMF 2020 - Call for Speakers

International Lidar Mapping Forum (ILMF) has announced a Call for Speakers and invites interested parties to submit their presentation abstracts by September 6, 2019.

ILMF, taking place in Washington, DC from March 23-25, 2020, is a technical conference and exhibition showcasing the latest airborne, mobile, terrestrial, and bathymetric lidar, as well as emerging remote sensing tools and technologies.

The ILMF Advisory Board and the ILMF Conference Chair will review submitted abstracts and the final conference agenda will be announced on November 1, 2019.

We invite abstracts addressing the following topics:

  • Advanced Computing Technologies
  • Autonomous Technologies
  • Data Acquisition Projects
  • Data Management
  • Data Processing & Exploitation Approaches
  • Data Visualization Innovations
  • Emerging / Cloud-based Technologies
  • Industry Challenges
  • Lidar Sensor Developments
  • Mobile / Portable Mapping Solutions
  • Open Source Solutions
  • Remote Sensing Technologies
  • Systems / Data Integration
  • Unmanned Applications

Suggested Topics

ILMF technical content include end-users highlighting their lidar data collection project work, providing data processing guidance, or sharing operational best practices. Sessions typically featuring lidar hardware (ex. data acquisition platforms, sensor systems, complementary sensor technologies, collection vehicles) and relevant software technologies including photogrammetric solutions, lidar data processing tools, quality control applications, and the latest innovations in data fusion, analysis, visualization, and exploitation.

Industries represented in previous ILMF conference presentations include asset management, infrastructure inspection/maintenance, utility operations, power generation, coastal mapping and surveying, emergency response, land/natural resource management, urban planning, and construction.

Acceptance Criteria

ILMF attendees are focused on learning as much as possible about lidar technologies and tradecraft! As such, preference is given to non-commercial presentation content – we are looking for client success stories that highlight the innovative application of lidar to support business operations.

For consideration as part of the main conference program it is recommended that presentation abstracts include business case studies (ex. ROI analysis), research activities (ex. UAS cave mapping), and relevant project examples (ex. statewide data collection) featuring clients, government organizations, and business partners. ILMF exhibitors are encouraged to present commercial product presentations during ILMF’s Product Preview session (Monday, March 23) and will not be accepted for the main conference program.

Please submit abstracts by September 6, 2019 using this form:
