Performance Issues in Drone LiDAR Systems
When it comes to low mass LIDAR systems for drone mapping, they are not all created equal! Considerations that come in to play include multiple returns (which some systems lack), dynamic range of the recorded return intensity, effective beam range, steering angle resolution and range precision. In this presentation I will examine the impact of these considerations when selecting a drone LIDAR system for a particular project. The presentation will be copiously illustrated with examples from real world systems used in various mapping projects. At the conclusion of the presentation, attendees will have a good foundation in how to review the specifications of a drone LIDAR system when making a selection for a specific project type.
