Solid-state Lidar using Software Pattern Matching
Our research team from Cisco Systems will present a whole new approach to 3D vision for autonomous vehicles with a new type of solid-state LiDAR sensor that is inexpensive and compact. The new sensor is based on a novel software algorithm and requires minimum hardware with absolutely no moving part. We will demonstrate a 3D LiDAR prototype that we built using off-the-shelf components from amazon.comcosting less than $1000. We will discuss our software-based approach and its advantages compared to existing technology.
