Biography

Prof Iain Woodhouse, CEO. Iain is an expert in active remote sensing of forest biomass with 23 years post-graduate experience in the field. He is currently a Professor at the University of Edinburgh. In 2008 he co-founded Ecometrica (a land use and carbon accounting enterprise employing 25 people in Edinburgh & Montreal, www.ecometrica.com ). He was a NED from 2008-12 and continues as an adviser. In 2012 Iain was a Royal Society of Edinburgh Enterprise Fellow.
In 2009 Iain founded REDD Horizon, a capacity building programme in Malawi, which has since helped promote the formation of a National REDD Strategy in Malawi. Since 2010 he has advised the UK Government and the UK Space Agency through his invited participation in the Parliamentary Space Committee & the National Space Technology Steering Group. Since 2017 he has been the Chair of the UK Space Agency’s EO Advisory Committee.
